Job Summary/Basic Function:
This posting is to hire qualified Associate (part-time) instructors to teach daytime classes in Mathematics at EvCC. Applications received by June 6 will receive first consideration for Fall 2019 classes.
This position reports to the Dean of Math and Science. Duties include preparing and teaching a full range of mathematics courses, from arithmetic through calculus.
Successful applicants should be prepared to facilitate student learning by using a variety of formats, including lecture, discussion, technology-based, distance learning and collaborative learning formats; plan for teaching by developing syllabi, examinations and learning activities; create a supportive learning environment both in and outside the classroom by being responsive to students' academic and learning needs; participate in all other tasks in accordance with the faculty contract and college policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in mathematics or math education OR
- Masters degree in a related applied mathematical field and relevant teaching experience OR
- Bachelors degree in mathematics with successful teaching experience in mathematics
- Documented competence in teaching mathematics
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Documented excellence in teaching mathematics at the community college level with student and supervisor evaluations
- Demonstrated ability and desire to implement current education technology to facilitate student learning
- A philosophy of education appropriate to a community college
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English
