Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Mathematics, with about 70 full time faculty members, currently offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics as well as a minor in Mathematics. The College's Student Success Initiative has an imperative for including and fostering success for all students in STEM degree programs. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teach both lower-division and upper-division undergraduate Mathematics courses.
  • Contribute professional service to the department, college, university and/or the professional community.
  • Establish and maintain a program of high-quality research that includes regular publication in peer-reviewed journals, dissemination of research at conferences, and ongoing efforts to obtain external research funding.
  • A strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate level mathematics courses ranging from general education courses through more advanced mathematics courses.
  • A strong commitment to student success.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A PhD, or the foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences with an emphasis in analysis, algebra, or discrete mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Research experience in analysis, algebra, or discrete mathematics (or related mathematical areas) and a record of scholarly products produced from such research.
  • Research areas that would complement and/or augment the existing faculty research strengths in the Department of Mathematics.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-doctoral experience.
  • Potential for obtaining external research funding.
  • Interest in contributing to the development and implementation of a potential graduate program in mathematics and in supporting other graduate programs at the university where applicable.
