The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Western Carolina University is seeking applications for a nine-month, fixed-term Instructor position in Mathematics at the rank of Instructor to begin in January 2025.

Duties include teaching 12 credit hours each semester in mathematics and/or statistics at the undergraduate level as well as departmental or institutional service.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has 24 full-time faculty and supports undergraduate programs in mathematics, mathematics education, and computer science. Class enrollments range from 35 in lower-level courses to the teens for upper level courses. Students are actively engaged in research, contests, and curricular activities. Masters degree, including 18 semester hours of graduate coursework in mathematics, from an appropriately accredited institution.

Evidence of excellent teaching and versatility in teaching lower division mathematics courses is preferred.
