Description
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track position in statistics at the assistant professor level to begin in August 2025.

The teaching load is two courses per semester. Faculty are expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to both research and teaching, and will support all of the departmental programs.

While all areas of statistics are welcome, candidates with interest in statistical machine learning and statistical computing are particularly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in statistics or biostatistics is required prior to the appointment start date; post-doctoral experience is preferred. Candidates must show a strong promise of excellence in teaching as well as in research.

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $103,792 - $115,324, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
